Rosh Hashana Message

EREV ROSH HASHANAH תשפ״ו

Dear Chaverim,

It is almost incomprehensible to think that another new year is approaching and we are still at war and still praying fervently for the release of our remaining hostages.

Along with all the horrific events that have happened this past year there have also been miraculous ones. This past year was rife with difficult challenges for the nation of Israel. It was and still is a year of war and pain.

Although it may be difficult to foresee the light at the end of the tunnel, we must not lose our faith and hope. We continue to pray for an end to the suffering of the hostage families, and the easing of the pain of fallen soldiers and innocent civilians’ loved ones.

Although, of course , the pain is greatest for those whom the loss touches, it is also our, clal Yisrael’s pain as well.

I want to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to all those who work diligently to ensure the smooth running of our Bet Knesset. First and foremost thanks go to Menachem who is the guiding force keeping the Bet Knesset running. He along with his עזר כנגדו Channi go above and beyond in everything they do.

Our thanks to our Rav and Rabbanit for all they do for the kehilla.

Larry Wachsman keeps us informed on a weekly basis.. Mike Friedman keeps us solvent. Avigdor Rand maintains the electronic bulletin board, and Aviel Zwebner maintains the website, our face to the outside world.

Thanks also to the gabbaim and all of those שעוסקים בצרכי צבור every Shabbat.

I once again send my thanks and appreciation to our Va’ad and committee chairmen for giving their time to attend meetings and voice opinions that are invaluable in helping to see that our bet Knesset runs well and that we have extra curricular activities.

Last but by no means least I thank you the members. I welcome your ideas and opinions and take each and every comment to heart. Please continue to take an interest in what happens and help to make our shul as good as it can be.

My prayer is that the coming year be a year of peace, serenity and security, as well as a year of unity between all our people.

May we all be inscribed for a year of health, happiness and blessings.
