Yesterday Shulamit Friedman and I went to the President hotel at 3 Achad Ha’am street and met with Rabbanit Channy of Chabad and Bernice Fogel who is a member of our kehilla.
The purpose of the meeting was to find volunteering opportunities for all those who want to contribute in this way.There is work to be done for the many evacuees. As an example there is a need to help distribute the clothing, games, housewares toiletries etc. it is shift work so everyone is there for about 2 hours and not all day long.

אתמול שולמית פרידמן ואני נפגשנו עם רבנית חני מחבד וברניס פוגל חברה בקהילתינו.
מטרת הפגישה היתה למצוא הזדמנויות להתנדב לכל אלו שרוצים לתרום בדרך הזו.יש הרבה מה לעשות עבור המפונים הרבים. לדוגמא יש צורך לספק בגדים,משחקים , כלי מטבח,כלי רחצה והיגינה וכו׳. ההתנדבות היא במשמרות של שעתיים כך שאין צורך להיות שם יום שלם.למידע נוסף או להתנדב נא להיות בקשר עם ברניס ב 054-461-8097.

כפי שנאמר בהודעות של שבת שעברה, פנו אלינו לסייע בכביסה למשפחות שפונו למלון תיאטרון.
נראה שלרובנו יהיה קל יותר לשלם כדי לעשות כביסה במכבסה במקום לאסוף, לכבס, לייבש ולהחזיר.כבר הוקמנו מערכת עם המלון, מכבסה בשכונה וחב"ד איתם אנחנו עובדים, לעשות בדיוק את זה.
זהו הפרויקט הראשון שאנו מבצעים. אנו מקווים שפרויקטים נוספים יבואו בעקבות הפרויקט הזה. אנו גם מקווים שנוכל להרכיב רשימה של הזדמנויות התנדבות נוספות.
אנו מבקשים מכל מי שרוצה לתרום בבקשה לעקוב אחר הפרטים להלן, ולוודא שכל עסקה מסומנת למאמץ המלחמתי (קרן מלחמה)

Volunteering
As stated in last Shabbat's announcements we were approached to help with doing laundry for the families evacuated to the Theatron Hotel.
We went with the idea that most of us would find it easier to pay to have laundry done at a laundromat rather than having to pick up, wash, dry, and return.
A system has already been set up with the hotel, the laundromat, and Chabad with whom we are working, to do just that.
This is the first project we are undertaking. We hope that more projects will follow this one. We also hope to be able to compile a list of local volunteering opportunities.
We are asking all those who would like to contribute to please follow the procedure below, making sure that each transaction is marked for the War Effort ( קרן מלחמה)

Clothing Gemach
As we all know, many residents of the South have lost all their belongings.
A gemach has been set up outside 9 Diskin, Jerusalem (Wolfson towers) where anyone can walk in and take what they need.
If you have clothing you are not using, please consider donating
placement of refugees
Dear friends,
We have organized a committee for the placement of refugees from southern Israel communities.
Currently we are looking for apartments where some families can stay during this period of highest threat.
We have an organized database of family size, community, children, bed requirements, Kashrut, etc
I am personally working on placing a single mother with 5 children from Netivot right now. We have also opened our home on 18 Sokolov for a lovely family.
Please let me know ASAP if you have an apartment available or know someone who would help with this cause.
